Rain on your wedding day. That’s probably the ;as thing any bride wants to hear! In the week leading up to Teresa and Tommy’s Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel Weddings, we were checking the weather report daily. It seemed to be going from bad to worse as we watched the forecast change from sunny, to rain, to full on thunderstorm! Which, if you are familiar with the weather in Southern California, is a strange occurrence, as we rarely get extreme weather. The day came and we crossed our finger that the storm would pass over us before it let loose. But as the morning went on, we all watched from the bridal suite as the sky grew darker and the lightning struck just off shore. The beautiful cliffside, ocean-view ceremony that they had spent months planning would have to move indoors to one of the event halls that happened to be free.
It can be pretty disappointing when your wedding plans have to change, after you have put so much time, energy, and even tears into making sure it’s as perfect as you dreamed it would be. But I want this post to serve as a testament to the fact that rain on your wedding day is not the end of the world! Even though they were disappointed, Teresa and Tommy were troopers and went with the flow! The rain allowed us to do some fun pictures that we wouldn’t have otherwise had, including some adorable umbrella shots. And the rain cleared up enough for us to get a few photos by the cliff with the ocean and clouds in the background. So. all in all, rain was not bad really. And they even say it’s good luck!
